During the reaction, aeration is continuously carried out, and water and gas can evenly enter the microelectrolysis reaction zone through the partition, thereby achieving agitation of the iron carbon packing material through aeration; The overflow weir and aeration tube in the microelectrolysis equipment cooperate with each other to ensure full contact between the packing and water, uniform reaction, no dead zone inside the equipment, and no backflow. Compared with fluidized bed iron carbon microelectrolysis reactors, it reduces energy consumption during equipment operation and lowers operating costs. The advantages of using microelectrolysis to treat wastewater are still very significant. It can not only remove COD, chromaticity, and heavy metals, but more importantly, it can increase the B/C value of wastewater and prepare for subsequent biochemistry. Many wastewater can also be treated with other processes to remove COD, chromaticity, and heavy metals. However, when it comes to improving the B/C value, other processes cannot compare to microelectrolysis. This is the experience gained from practical engineering applications and extensive experiments. Many wastewater have very low B/C values and almost no possibility of biochemistry. However, after the iron carbon microelectrolysis process, the COD removal effect may not be particularly high, but the B/C value has actually increased. The wastewater treated with microelectrolysis has no problem entering subsequent biochemistry, such as pesticide production wastewater. So, the major advantage of using microelectrolysis to treat wastewater is the removal of COD, chromaticity, heavy metals, and improved biodegradability of the wastewater.
